Police Station Parking Job Leads to DUI Charge

One woman is finding this out first hand after she allegedly chose to get behind the wheel of her car and drove into the parking lot of a police station going the wrong way while intoxicated.

According to authorities, on October 5th at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Bass River Police Station received a call about a wrong way driver that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway at mile marker 51.

Steeler’s Player Waives Preliminary Hearing in Drug DUI Case

According to officials, Bell, 22, and teammate, LeGarrette Blount, 27, were placed under arrest on August 20th of this year when a motorcycle officer indicated he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle they were in.

Bell appeared with his agent and attorneys in court to face the charges of both DUI and possession of an illegal substance. Bell waived his right to the preliminary hearing.

Delaware Man Charged with DUI in Fatal Accident

hykuIn Delaware, a 55 year old man was arrested on October 12th for allegedly hitting two young men who were walking down the road.

The two young men were taken to the hospital, where one victim was pronounced dead. The other victim was treated for minor injuries before he was released. Police reported that the driver of the car had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The man was taken in to custody.

Senate Unanimously Approves Increase in Use of Interlock Ignitions for DUI Offenders

HBarrisonThis month, the state Senate of Pennsylvania has unanimously agreed to send a bill the state House that would increase the use of ignition interlock devices. If this bill passes through the house, the ignition interlock devices would be required for all everyone that is found guilty of driving under the influence. This includes first time offenders if their blood alcohol level is at or above 0.10. The device will be required to be installed in the offender’s car for a minimum of one year.

 The current law in Pennsylvania requires the use of an ignition interlock device for a year if the driver is facing his second DUI and beyond.
