8-year-old Caught Trying to Drive Drunk Father Home

Making the decision to get behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated is a case of poor judgment. This is especially true when children are involved. But even when someone makes such a mistake, it doesn’t mean the one accused has to give up all of his or her rights. A good attorney and a strong defense should always be the first priority in order to make sure that they are insured a fair trial.

According to Pennsylvania State Police an Indiana County father has been accused of being charged with child endangerment after allowing his 8-year-old son to drive his vehicle while he was intoxicated. The boy drove the car into a tree, injuring both father and son.

Police have charged Robinson resident, Frank Gordon Conway, 46, with the misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, as well as summary violations of permitting an unauthorized person to drive and permitting violation of title. According to state police investigators, Robinson allegedly permitted his 8-year-old son to sit between his legs in his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, steer the car and operate the brake and gas pedal.

Conway’s son drove the vehicle into a tree and both were injured in the crash. The father was treated for injuries to his face and sternum, while his son, who was also injured, was taken by his mother to the hospital for treatment.
