Delaware Man Faces Serious Consequences After DUI Arrest

A car accident is always a terrible thing, even the ones considered minor, by most. If drunk driving is suspected, that only makes it worse for the accused driver. DUI is a serious offense in Pennsylvania and carries with it serious consequences. The prosecution will likely go for the harshest possible penalty. It takes a skilled and experienced DUI defense attorney to see that any judgments passed are fair to the defendant, as well as to anyone hurt in an accident.

A Delaware man struck and killed one man and injured another one, allegedly due to drunk driving.

Around 1 in the morning, a 19-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, and four others were walking on a road in Wilmington when the two men were hit by a 2009 Nissan Altima.

The two were taken to Christiana Hospital, where the 19-year-old man was later pronounced dead. The 20-year-old sustained only minor injuries. He was treated and released.

Investigators determined the driver of the Nissan to be a 55-year-old resident of Newark, Delaware. According to police, he was intoxicated due to alcohol consumption at the time of the accident. He was arrested and charges against him are pending.
