Authorities say that a Delaware woman has been arrested for what is to have been her third DUI. The arrest comes after police indicated she returned to the scene of a car fire that she allegedly set. Officials believe that the fire was an act of arson. Surveillance video footage reveal that Doreen K. Bowman,58, of Ocean View, as the suspect for setting the fire. Bowman later was seen returning to the scene where she was stopped by a police officer.
Officers indicated detecting a strong odor of alcohol. When asked for her name, Bowman gave a false name to police. Police eventually identified Bowman and through a computer search found that there was also a warrant out for her for Offensive Touching. Bowman was asked to get out of her vehicle but attempted to flee the scene. Bowman was stopped by police and was physically removed from her vehicle and was immediately placed under arrest.
Bowman faces several charges other charges in addition to her 3rd DUI offense including Criminal Impersonation, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Have Insurance, Failure to have License in Possession, as well as Offensive Touching. Bowman was taken to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution.
