Holiday DUI Crashes Up

download (21)The holiday season has seen its share of fatalities, crashes, and DUIs, and this one is no different.  People are out at the liquor stores purchasing more beer, they are on the roads more to celebrate life and their family, and everyone is home for at least a few days to revel in the holiday cheer.  Drinking and DUI is a part of it, and we always see a marked increase of DUIs during this season.

Such is the case of a man who lives in Monroeville.   He killed a local businessman with his vehicle, and has pleaded guilty to a host of charges including homicide by vehicle while DUI.   The man was also driving on a suspended license.  The DA’s office mentioned that it was a general plea and that sentencing was left up to the judge.

Your safety and security is of the utmost importance this holiday season.  Nobody should be drinking and driving, as we’d rather see stories of happy cheer than horrific tragedy.  It’s going to require a lot more vigilance on your part to spot the drunken drivers, but you can do it.  It’s for the safety of all of us.

Now, there are people out there who might end up being falsely accused of DUI.  There’s nothing worse than going through all of the legal hoopla for something that you didn’t do.  We can help you here at the Kellis Law firm.  We’ve got years upon years of experience in defending people who have been falsely accused of DUI.  Give us a call for your free consultation.
