4th Of July Starts Checkpoint Season

Just like every other year, the 4th of July marks the beginning of checkpoint season for police departments and the state police all over Pennsylvania. The DOT, five police departments from around the state and the Pennsylvania State Police have started setting up this year’s summer sobriety checkpoints using data gathered from DUI related accidents and arrests from years past. In addition to hunting for intoxicated drivers they are also planning on providing DUI literature to sober drivers who pass through the check points. Police warn that if you are driving drunk this summer, they will find you.
