Motorcycle Driver Dead in Somerset County

Motorcycle drivers can be very difficult to see when it gets dark. It is common for riders to wear dark leather jackets for protection in case they skid out, but at night it can make riders almost invisible. That may need to be taken into account in today’s news story.

In Somerset County, a motorcycle rider was killed around 8 PM. The accident happened in the town of Boswell Borough at the intersection of Hower Avenue and Main Street. He died at the scene when another car hit his motorcycle. When the police arrived, they determined that the driver of the car was intoxicated and charged him with DUI. Other charges are pending on the investigation.

In case with multiple charges, a good defense lawyer is essential. If the evidence is too strong to reduce one charge, an argument could be made to reduce another depending on what happened. For instance, if the intersection wasn’t well-lit it may be difficult for even a sober person to see the motorcycle. The cyclist may have also done an illegal action that put him in the path of the car.

The full story doesn’t come out until it is presented in the court of law. That’s why it’s important to have a skilled defense attorney on your side who is experienced in your charges.
