NHTSA Says New Jersey Drivers Seventh Best in the Nation

download (69)While New Jersey drivers may not be perceived by drivers in other states as being good drivers, according to one report, they are some of the best in the United States.

In a study that was based on statistics by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which can be found at www.carinsurancecomparison.com, New Jersey drivers are in the top ten, ranking in the list as the seventh best in the nation.

Criteria used in the report indicate that states were ranked according to the number of fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles, traffic violations, incidents of arrests involving driving under the influence, as well as speeding or reckless driving.

It is equally surprising to know that some of the worst drivers can be found in Montana, a state known for empty space.

However, even with the best intentions, a person can have a lapse of judgement and get behind the wheel and suddenly be facing a DUI charge.

A great many people have the mistaken idea that once you have been arrested for DUI, they will have to plead guilty to the charge. That’s not always the case. It really does depend a great deal on a number of circumstances, including on how law enforcement officers handle an arrest.
